Thomas Wærner and Lars Monsen will be the keynote speakers at the rookie seminar on Saturday 9. November 2013. Because of the high attendance the course has been moved to Storstuggu (Røros Hotel). Now it is official that last year's winner of the open class in Finnmarksløpet, Thomas Wærner from North Torpa, will come to Røros on 9th November to hold talks on long-distance mushing during this year's rookie courses. He will talk about topics such as training towards a race, preparations, race tactics and checkpoint routines. Wærner has built up a solid amount of experience and knowledge over many years as a top musher in various disciplines in dog sledding in Norway and the world. He is also a very engaging and energetic speaker. In addition, Norway's number one Outdoorsman, Lars Monsen, will give great tips on how to deal with weather and other challenges during a race. Few can boast such a wide background experience as Lars Monsen when it comes to outdoor activities, and even fewer have the ability to impart knowledge as we have seen Monsen do for many years. With these speakers, it goes without saying that more than rookies should recognize the opportunity. The course is open to all and we wish both experienced mushers and curious outdoor enthusiasts a warm welcome!
