The Mayor of Tolga, Ragnhild Aashaug, serves a three-course dinner to the musher who leads the race at checkpoint Tolga. This year is the first time they have junior riders at their checkpoint and Amund was served by the mayor.
Mayor Tolga municipality, Ragnhild Ashaug smile is as radiant as Amund smile during serving of the three-course dinner. The menu features shrimp cocktail for appetizer, roasted pork with sauce, vegetables and roasted potatoes as main course, and for dessert flan.
How do you think it is to be served by the mayor?
- It is a luxury, respons Amund.
Not enough that Amund get dinner, he will also sleep in a proper bed in the dormitory.
The Mayor explains that she thinks it's great to have Femund Juniors visiting the checkpoint at Tolga.
- We put just as much a celebration of the junior’s as for the seniors. Femund Junior is great for recruitment, says the mayor.
- To feel mastery and to feel to cope with things, I think does something with you as a person. The fact that junior riders dare to freeze and dare to be tired, give them some experiences in life. Experiences that are equally important in the workplace, as in sport, says Mayor Ragnhild Aashaug.
